Marta Santiago Balsera
Marta Santiago Balsera has a degree in Medicine and Surgery (2007-2013) from Autonomous University of Madrid. Since 2015, she has been training as a Resident Medical Intern in the specialty of Hematology and Hemotherapy at La Fe University and Polytechnic Hospital in Valencia. During this period, she has acquired clinical skills for the diagnosis and treatment of hematological patients. Also, as a pre-doctoral researcher, she has focused her first research in molecular biology applied to oncohematology area. In this sense, she has been trained in molecular techniques that allow the characterization of some hematological neoplasms: nucleic acids extraction from peripheral blood and marrow bone, reverse transcription, conventional PCR, real-time PCR (SYBR Green, hybridization probes, TaqMan probes, HRM), PCR Clamp, capillary electrophoresis and capillary sequencing. In addition, she has been trained in the preparation of next generation sequencing libraries in Illumina and ThermoFisher platforms and in the interpretation of the results obtained. She has conducted numerous training courses in the diagnosis and management of hematological patients. She has exhibited several scientific posters in the area of Hematology in national and international congresses.
